Is the Onsite Drug Testing Network and our SMART system valuable to employers?
TESTIMONIALS
AMPCO
ODTN’s Onsite testing services is a major convenience. Once we notify them of our random schedule, we can count on someone here in the time frame we need the testing to be done.
Prior to ODTN, we took our employees to the clinic, losing precious time. Time lost was created because a staff member was required to drive two or three employees to the testing location. This resulted in approximately 2 hours of lost time for the staff member and each driver. If we had multiple employees that needed to be tested for that period, it could take a full day just running the employees back and forth. This resulted in a full day of down time for a staff member in addition to extra labor costs.
The convenience of having our testing done onsite is a huge time saver for us.

MORTON GOLF
The ODTN provider was able to identify the desire of improved quality and quickness of drug testing – two aspects that matter most. Their web-based software has made communication of results faster, reduced paperwork, and improved efficiency, which allowed us to streamline our hiring practices.
ODTN has introduced technology, while keeping in mind this is not a substitute for a real person who has the knowledge and authority to solve a customer problem. They stand out in their ability to form relationships.
They have a clear vision of what they do and how to do it, with employees who understand this vision and make it their own. The front-line people are not afraid to over-service the customer by being helpful, courteous and taking that extra step.

NORTECH
We have used an ODTN provider for a couple of years and do so for the economical value of having a collector come to our facility for testing. Previous to hiring our service provider, we had an employee take our scheduled employees to a clinic for testing. Although the clinic would schedule an appointment, it could take hours for all the testing to be completed. Having a collector come to our facility takes the wait and the driving time out of the costs associated with random drug testing.
I have enjoyed getting to know the friendly collectors, and the quality of service offered. The time and energy we save has been worth the fees we pay to have the testing done Onsite.

RALEY'S
Our business operates every day, all day. We value on site testing because it can be completed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The time savings is the ability to have the collection person on site when the driver returns to the dispatch office. We save labor costs by not having to pay the driver travel time to and from the clinic, as well as wait time.
The staff at the ODTN provider are very professional, well trained and on time for their appointments.

ALL WEST COACHLINES
When I arrived at our company {All West}, we had already established a working relationship with an ODTN provider. I have worked with other companies that provide the same type of service. The major difference is ODTN’s commitment to their customers and employees. ODTN provides a list of their certifications and ensures prompt, on-time arrival and emergency response. The other companies I have used in the past only provide a service and not the assurance of excellence.
I feel it is important to trust the company you deal with, and to have the assurance and professionalism that an ODTN provider delivers. ODTN has always been able to perform or explain the process of collection. All employees are courteous, aware of their position, knowledgeable and well trained. ODTN collectors know the individual requirements of each of their customers and work well with management on all levels.
I recommend the use of an ODTN provider for any onsite drug testing needs.

CASE STUDIES
The following companies have national or regional recognizable identities and our confidentiality agreement precludes listing the specific company name.
CASE Study – Large, National, General Contractor
Situation:
A three-year project to build a high-rise structure for a state-run agency. The state where the project is based has a requirement for all contactors going on site to receive a drug test. Prior projects had employers use previous drug testing results.
In this case, all contractors and their employees were notified ahead of time that there would be a drug test.
How handled:
Testing was done with an Onsite collector as part of the safety briefing.
Results:
- This project had only two major accidents, setting a record for a high-rise project
- Out of 2,082 contract employees tested from the various construction trades, 63 tested positive for illegal drugs, 33 refused to test and an additional 14 were caught trying to bring in an outside sample
- This yields a cumulative rate of 18.9%
- Substance abuse testing prevented project losses of $484,000
CASE Study – Regional Technical College
Situation:
A Medical Assistant Program at this college provides placement to many different hospitals and clinics. The previous procedure was to notify the students to go to a clinic for drug testing. There was never a positive test in the two years of testing. After hearing rumors of students using drugs, they adopted for Onsite testing.
How handled:
Students were called out of class in order to accomplish the testing at a facility on the campus
Results:
- Out of the nine students tested, three were positive for illegal drugs
CASE Study – Local Distribution Warehouse
Situation:
A Warehouse with over 200 employees and around the clock operations accomplished pre-employment drug testing. Management desired to start a random drug testing program due to indications of lack of productivity resulting from substance abuse.
How handled:
Each month, a software program was used to randomly select ten individuals. Onsite testing was conducted at random times of the day and random days of the week.
Results:

- The third and fourth months there were zero positive tests
CASE Study – Northern California Pizza chain
Situation:
Implemented a reasonable suspicion substance abuse testing program because customers were noticing uniformed employees smoking Marijuana in the parking lots and smelling the aroma on employees.
Results:

CASE Study – Auto Repair Shop with seven bays
Situation:
While servicing an ODTN vehicle, the owner inquired about a substance abuse policy and program. He mentioned to his employees that he was going to implement a program.
